ruins of Roman settlements,

evidence of Islamic rule, religious Inquisition,

and somewhat recent Civil War.

Infamous Spanish artists include

the genius of Gaudi, Picasso, El Greco,

Cervantes, Velázquez, Goya, and Dalí.

Typical cultural stereotypes include

Flamenco dancing, bullfights, siestas and fiestas!
